The Linux kernel supplied with the Thecus N1200 uses the old ppc arch and the device ships with a pre-device tree aware version of U-Boot. To enable foonas support for this platform this project aims to support all the devices ultimately in kernel.org vanilla kernels and making it work with the new powerpc architecture.
