This page documents various procedures specific to the Buffalo LinkStation HD-HLAN (MIPSel), also known an LS2 or as lsmipsel within the foonas distributions.

Installation Requirements

Running foonas 'out the box' for this platform depends on having a working u-boot installation.

Platform Specific Issues

This MIPS based Linkstation can ship with one of two different kinds of flash memory. One of them (ST Micro flash) is not supported in u-boot or the new 2.6 kernel. This means you have to install an OS based on the original 2.4 kernel if you want to revert/update stuff in flash on your Linkstation if you have the unsupported kind. Because of this we currently do not support this platform although we provide binaries for it for certain distributions.
